Foreign Ministry Of Lithuania About Lukashenka: You Cannot Talk To Terrorists

The dictator would better get ready for new sanctions.

The Lithuanian side has a lot of evidence, showing that the flow of migrants is organized by Belarus. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania Mantas Adomenas on the air of the Echo of Moscow radio station.

According to the official, cooperation with the Belarusian border guards continued until March of this year

"They used to take back these people, who had crossed the border illegally, upon presentation of an evidence. They stopped cooperating. And then we started to receive evidence of their direct interference. The last of them is the footage by a European Union agent, where a police van of Belarusian border guards accompanies a group of refugees all the way to the border. And as soon as they notice that they are filmed, they go straight into the woods," said the deputy minister.

Mantas says that the Lithuanian side has "a lot of evidence, showing that the flow of migrants is organized" by Belarus.

"Up to July, it was organized by agents controlled by Alexander Lukashenko and their delivery to the Lithuanian border was carried out by the Belarusian border guards," he said.

Adomenas also says he sees no prospects for a dialogue with Lukashenka on solving the problem with the migrants.

"There was an attempt of holding a dialogue with the Belarusian side, the border guards established a rather productive attitude. After the end of cooperation, we wrote official notes, to which there was no response. And since Lukashenka said that he would let migrants to Lithuania and other EU countries, and would use it as blackmail, the dialogue has lost its meaning, because we can't talk to the terrorists," said the official.

In his opinion, Lukashenka wanted to lift the EU sanctions in this way.

"After all, the sanctions were taken in response to the 500 thousand or more political prisoners on 100 thousand beaten and repressed, arrested people. If he thinks he can lift those sanctions with his migrants, no. The only way is to hold free and supervised democratic elections and release all political prisoners, then it will be possible to remove these sanctions. And if he continues to blackmail with migrants, there will be new sanctions in response to this hybrid attack against Lithuania and the EU," stressed the deputy minister.
