MEPs and the U.S. Congressmen: The Deployment of Russian Troops to Belarus May End with Occupation

This fact needs to be clearly pointed out to the Kremlin.

The members of the parliaments of Ukraine, Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, the European Parliament and the U.S. congressmen said that the deployment of Russian troops in Belarus poses a threat to Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, and may also be part of the ultimate plan to occupy Belarus. This was stated on Twitter by MEP, ex-Foreign Minister of Poland Anna Fotyga.

Here is the text of the statement in full:

“The deployment of Russian troops to Belarus poses a threat to Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania.

It may also be part of the ultimate plan to occupy Belarus. Further presence of Russian military forces at the request of the illegitimate Lukashenko regime should be treated as an occupation of Belarus. This must be made absolutely clear at the ongoing U.S. and EU dialogue with Russia. Any diplomatic decision on the deterrence of possible Russian aggression against Ukraine must not come at the expense of an independent and democratic future of Belarus.”
