Russian Military In Homel Region: Burn Fires At Night, Occupied Former Pioneer Camps

Here's what the locals say about the Russian military.

Reports are coming in from various corners of Homel region about the presence of Russian military and equipment.

According to local media, the Russian military are based in Yelsk and Kalinkavichy. These towns have not reported themselves as official exercise locations.

Residents of Homel testify that every day military equipment arriving from Russia is unloaded at the station in Navabelitski district. At night, they make fires there. At weekends, Homel residents often organized car races at the former military airfield in Ziabrauka. On Sunday, they arrived there by car, but people were not allowed in. The airfield was cordoned off by the military and the town was flooded with military equipment.

Homel residents were surprised by the activity in the former pioneer camps, which are now abandoned. "Everything is lit up there now in the evenings and at night - soldiers have stopped there, they make fires," sources told Radio Racyja.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry, military equipment has been sent to Belarus, including from the Far East.
