Andrei Piontkovsky: Belarusians Do Not Want Bandits On Their Territory
Andrei Piontkovsky

The arrival of the mobilized will cause great social discontent.

Russian political analyst Andrei Piontkovsky spoke about whether Lukashenka will dare to send Belarusian troops to war and how society will react to new Russian troops in Belarus.

"Lukashenka will do some fancy footwork, which he has been doing for 25 years. He, of course, is very much afraid of Putin, so he is playing a desperate game," says Andrei Piontkovsky in an interview to Radio NV.

He had to agree to the deployment of the Russian troops, but he will never send the Belarusians to the war and will never dare to carry out mobilization.

He knows very well the sentiments of the Belarusian military first of all: at the very beginning of the war he got a good sociological proof that the majority of the Belarusian servicemen do not want to take part in this war.

A repetition of this [the arrival of Russian troops on the territory of Belarus] will once again cause great social discontent in Belarus. Belarusians do not want to have bandits on their territory.
