Leonid Nevzlin: Putin Will Receive Ultimatum From Both Sides

The head of the Kremlin will become a bargaining chip in the big game between the US and China.

After the U.S. talks with China, Putin will receive an ultimatum from both sides.

Israeli philanthropist Leonid Nevzlin stated this in an interview with Dmitriy Gordon, founder of the gordonua.com publication.

– Leonid Borisovich, what do you think, how will events develop further? What will the step-by-step picture look like in your opinion? How will this end? And when?

– You are asking a difficult question. I consider that… First, I said that the war will end strategically with the victory of Ukraine. It is inevitable. At the same time, it is now clear to everyone that it will be both Crimea and all other territories within the borders of 1991 or, if you like, 1994.

– Are you so sure?

It is absolutely clear. Otherwise, this is an unfinished war, and it will never end, but will continue. The finished war is the borders of 1991-1994. Just as it was adopted by the Belovezh Accords and the Budapest Memorandum. And, accordingly, the responsibility for the security of Ukraine. I believe that Ukraine will sign a special agreement with NATO soon enough and NATO will take this war more seriously, up to participation in it (although they deny it), and until Ukraine joins NATO as NATO's advanced army, which knows how to fight on the European continent, including against Russia.

Moreover, I believe that after Xi has gained a foothold in China – I am now talking not even about its strategic consequences, but about current ones – he needs no Putin. With his threat of nuclear weapons, with this war and so on. He needs to develop the economy and prove that people can live well and tasty under his dictatorship. To do this, he needs to improve relations with Europe and America now. No one threatens him anymore. He is, roughly speaking, a lifelong Chinese. Therefore, Putin is a hindrance to him.

And I think that after some time, an ultimatum to Putin is quite possible, and it will be issued from both sides: after negotiations between the Americans and the Chinese, and, indeed, after a certain redivision of the world. You know, I don't believe in a multipolar world. I believe in a unipolar world, I believe in a bipolar world, as it was. I do not believe in a multipolar world.

This was invented by Putin and his entourage in order to show some kind of special role for Russia. But they are well aware that there is China with its satellites, there is the U.S. and Europe with the satellites or with friendly countries (poor choice of words), which are very numerous and there is no place for Putin. It's just a resource fringe and, probably, some kind of labour force and a place to locate production facilities.

He ruined Russia's prospect of becoming a European country and entering one of the poles as a full member. He had a chance, but he messed it all up. So now it is a rogue state. It's a rogue country at the level of Iran and, sorry but, North Korea: I will add, although this is not so important, it will be a kind of bargaining chip in the game of big guys.

– Yes, yes.

– Therefore, Ukraine will be in Europe and Putin will be in a rubber b**t. As for now, China, the U.S. and Europe, and even Turkey and Israel, thank God, have a bright future. It's my point of view.
