Journalist Yuri Butusov Mocks New Defense Of Belarusian Tanks

For some reason, a pipe with a bucket was welded to the armored vehicles.

The gathering of the command staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces took place at the Asipovichy training ground to study the experience of the war in Ukraine, and modernize the army, the state agency BelTA reported. The defense of Belarusian tanks, which appeared in the photo of the state media, was ridiculed by Ukrainian journalist Yuri Butusov:

“The Russians became the instructors of the Belarusians, who handed over the Javelin ATGM, NLAW, Panzerfaust grenade launcher captured from the Ukrainians to the training ground. The Russian colleagues have apparently recommended protecting army vehicles with homemade log protection, which looks rather ridiculous against the backdrop of modern anti-tank weapons.

The most striking thing is that the Russians advised to protect the tanks from Javelin strikes by welding a pipe with a bucket to the tank, into which diesel fuel must be poured and set on fire before the battle. According to Russian instructors, the Javelin's homing system will aim not at a hot tank engine, but at a small bucket. Apparently, at the time of launch, one of the tankers should have time to add fuel to the bucket so that it burns brighter. Well, if the Belarusian army joins the Russian aggressors, it will have the opportunity to test these defense systems in real combat, against active, not demonstrative Javelins.

The most curious thing is that the Russians and Belarusians do not install Arena, Arena-M, Afganit active defense systems on their tanks, which have been so widely advertised for many years. It turns out that in a real war, the Russians do not put these systems either on their new tanks, which they send to the front, or on the tanks of their allies.

Meanwhile, it is active defense systems that are the key technology for protecting armored vehicles, which Ukraine also needs to develop.
