The sanctions against the Belarusian authorities are noticeably weaker in some respects.
Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak believes that Lukashenka's regime should be equally responsible with Russia for the war against Ukraine. He said this at the opening of the Warsaw Security Forum.
According to PAP, Blaszczak said that the Lukashenka regime stands shoulder to shoulder with Russia and supports aggression against Ukraine. Therefore, the Belarusian authorities should be under the same pressure as Russia.
It should be noted that the sanctions regimes applied by the EU, the US and other Western countries against Belarus and Russia are mostly synchronized, but in some cases the restrictions against Minsk are noticeably weaker.
Blaszczak also said that maximum and comprehensive pressure on Russia should be applied in order to limit its ability to act and to end the conflict as soon as possible. He expressed satisfaction with NATO's decisions to strengthen the eastern flank.
