'Everyone's Going Crazy': Russian Soldier Accused Of Crimes In Bucha Speaks Up

Nikita Chibrin says he wants to testify in an international court.

Russian soldier Nikita Chibrin, the 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which is accused of crimes in Bucha, fled the front and told The Insider about the events in the Kyiv region.

"I know there was looting. I saw them taking cars in Lipovka and Andriivka; I saw them breaking cars they couldn't start, destroying houses. Apparently, they went crazy, saying that we have power, we have tanks, we have BMPs, weapons and so on. The Rambo syndrome was on. They took jewelry from houses, mobile devices."

Chibrin also confirmed the fact that Russian soldiers had raped women in Andriivka.

"They were going crazy over it all. Many of them found alcohol in houses and drank it. There was a case in Andriivka when a mother and daughter were raped. Four guys did it. One ran away, the rest were beaten with stools by their fellow soldiers and commanders. One wanted to shoot them. They couldn't be charged as there was no evidence, so they were just fired".

The soldier says that Russian soldiers are in terrible conditions at the front.

"People haven't been in the normal world for long. They didn't have normal conditions. The Ukrainian army showed footage of a trench where they had everything human-like: shelter, insulation from moisture, beds, electricity. The Ukrainian army treats its soldiers much better."

According to Chibrin, the Russian soldiers were promised that they would be sent home. The command put physical and psychological pressure on those who wanted to leave the front or for being captured.

"Everyone was intimidated that they would have their dick or their balls cut off or something else."

The soldier also said he played insane at the front so he wouldn't be sent to the front lines. Everyone, including his family, turned their backs on him because he ran away and refused to shoot.

"I'm a traitor to the Motherland to them and that's it. Why should I go to war and kill Ukrainian civilians? Go to jail? That leaves the third option - just leave."

Chibrin says he wants to testify in an international court: "I have nothing to hide. This war of Russia is criminal. I want to do my best to end it."

Chibrin joined the army in the summer of 2021 - by his own admission, because of financial problems. The military man claims his brigade was brought to Ukraine by deception. Chibrin says he spent the first month of the war in the village of Lipovka, 50 kilometers from Kyiv. During this period, his comrades-in-arms carried out genocide in Bucha and Andriivka.

On June 16, he was able to leave Ukraine by hiding in a truck headed for Russia. After his escape, he contacted human rights activists from Gulagu.pet to help him leave Russia. On November 15, he landed in Madrid and immediately asked for political asylum. According to Chibrin, his application is pending. He will be placed in a temporary refugee center.
