Russian MiG-31K Catches Fire At Airfield In Belarus

The Kinzhal carrier is out of service and will not be able to fly in the near future.

Yesterday, on December 25, a MiG-31K of the Russian Air and Space Forces, which is a carrier of "Kinzhal" hypersonic missiles, caught fire at an airfield in the Belarusian Machulishchy.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a Belarusian monitoring group.

It is reported that the engine fire occurred in the plane with registration number RF-95194. It is not known how badly the plane was damaged and how long it will be out of service.

It should be noted that three MiG-31Ks of the Russian Air Force arrived in Machulishchy on December 13. This is the second duty shift of this type of planes in Belarus. Earlier three MiGs arrived on October 16 and stayed in Belarus for 46 days. Also the IL-76 A-50U "Sergei Atayants" is based in Machulishchy and performs joint flights.

"December" MiGs have registration numbers RF-92215, RF-92445, RF-95194. They have already made at least four sorties.
