The dictator has turned everyone against himself.
Following Armenia, Uzbekistan has expressed its indignation at Lukashenka's words, writes Salidarnasts.
Lukashenka's words about the need for Uzbekistan to join the Union State do not correspond to the spirit of relations established between the two countries.
A source in the official circles of Uzbekistan has commented on the situation this way.
He noted that the country has its own national development strategy and advised the Belarusian ruler to pay attention to the problems in his own country.
Earlier, in an interview with propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, Lukashenka expressed his opinion that within the next 15 years the Union State, which includes Belarus and Russia, might be joined by Ukraine and other countries.
"Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, I think, out of necessity, primarily out of the economic need, will also join it," the Belarusian ruler said.
In his opinion, the union of sovereign states will have a common defence space and, possibly, a common currency.
Earlier, Armenia was indignant with Lukashenka's statement: the Belarusian ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry, while Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reacted in response.
As for Uzbekistan, the Belarusian ruler made the unacceptable remarks for the second time since the beginning of the year. In January, Lukashenka said that that country's authorities should learn some lessons from the events in Kazakhstan.
This probably explains the following statement by a source in Uzbek official circles:
"A series of irresponsible statements does not correspond in any way to the spirit and level of interstate relations achieved by the joint efforts of the two countries".
Amazingly, amidst Western sanctions, Lukashenka manages to spoil relations with his allies in the post-Soviet space.
