Valery Gerasimov the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation arrived in Belarus
According to TASS with reference to the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry, "to control the readiness of formations and military units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to participate in joint Russian-Belarusian exercises".
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu visited Belarus.
The exercises will last until February 20.
