This looks like an ominous sign.
On February 23, all Russian diplomats left Ukraine. And on the 24th the invasion began.
After that, the Belarusian embassy remained in Kyiv for almost a month. But on March 19, Lukashenka's last diplomat left Ukraine, Solidarity writes.
An obvious parallel brings along the following version: the Russian military machine has stalled in Ukraine, it is sorely lacking manpower to advance. Vladimir Putin and Sergei Shoigu are deploying new units, which are sometimes located far away. And here the Belarusian army is “doing nothing”. So, it is necessary to put the pressure on Aliaksandr Lukashenka so that the troops subordinated to him also join in ...
Apparently, the ruler of Belarus had no great desire to send soldiers to Ukraine. But what if the Kremlin made "an offer you can't refuse"?
Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Denisenko also drew attention to the departure of diplomats:
"I would now assess the possibility of Belarus entering a military conflict as 60 to 40. Just a week ago it was 40 to 60.
There is, however, another option. For example, perhaps the diplomats left because Moscow warned Minsk about the impending violent assault on Kyiv. Former employee of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Pavel Matsukevich is leaning towards this version. Kyiv has been shelled before, but it cannot be ruled out that the bombing will become carpet, or even weapons of mass destruction will be used ...
Actually, the scenarios described above may well be combined. There is also a small chance that the departure of diplomats is due to other reasons.
Anyway, the coming days will be very disturbing...
