These difficulties have already emerged a week after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.
The Russian military are short of not only food and ammunition, but even fuel for ships in the Black Sea. In addition, the military have no warm clothes.
This is what a senior US Defence Department official said at a closed briefing, Radio Svaboda reports.
According to him, "A large and massive operation, which they have never conducted before, has been going on for a month and they have not yet solved the problem of resupply." He noted that these difficulties have arisen as early as a week after the start of the Russian invasion.
In particular, the Russian military have problems with supplies, high-precision ammunition, communications and even warm clothing, so they are suffering from cold weather. The Pentagon added that the occupiers have problems with fuel even at sea.
