A 20-year-old serviceman told about the deplorable state of the army and poverty of the Russian civilian population.

Russian occupants in Ukraine are killing each other because of the horrors of the war that are happening in front of their eyes.

Andrei Ushakov, a 20-year-old Russian soldier who was taken prisoner of war, said he was aware of suicides by Russian soldiers. In addition, some of them hurt themselves with gunshots to be able to go home, The Daily Mail reports.

According to him, the Russian occupants in Ukraine are experiencing food shortages. They often share one dry ration for three.

The captive Russian soldier says he joined the army to support his family financially. In captivity, he was allowed to call his mother, but she did not believe his son's words that Russian television was showing lies about the war in Ukraine.

"I told my mother that everything she saw on TV was a lie, but she didn't believe me. She directly asked me if I was under hypnosis when I told her that everything she had seen on Russian TV was a lie," the military man said.

At the same time, he has already had time to regret his wrong decision. However, he admits that despite Russia's fossil wealth, his family lives in poverty.

"My dad is sick, blind in one eye, deaf, with cardiac problems. My mother has blood pressure problems. We have a lot of problems in our village. We sell gas all over the world, but there is no gas in our village. We only got electricity last year," Ushakov said.

We should add that the Russian prisoner of war appealed to young people in Russia asking them not to fall for the propaganda appeal and not to join the army: "Do not come here. We have nothing to do here. We only bring pain... People here are good. And if we don't cherish our lives, let's not spoil the lives of others."
