Macron: Following Oil, Another Embargo Awaits Putin

The French president has announced new sanctions against Russia.

Amid Russia's full-scale military attack on independent Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has said the European Union will cut Russian oil imports by 92% by the end of 2022.

This was reported by Ouest-France.

The French president said that he did not rule out an embargo on gas supplies to the EU from Russia either.

Macron also stressed that France would work to unblock deliveries of Ukrainian grain. He also confirmed that Russian oligarchs will fall under new sanctions and Sberbank will be cut off from SWIFT.
