Relatives had no information about the political prisoner location of for almost a month.
For almost a month, the relatives of the activist of the European Belarus Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk have not been able to locate her. Palina's husband Andrei Sharenda told Charter97.org:
— There was a consideration of the cassation appeal in the Homiel Regional Court. Five days later, on June 13, Palina was transferred from the Homiel pre-trial detention center, and at the moment her further fate is unknown. For two weeks, the lawyer tried to get through to the institutions where Polina could be, but they did not say anything. In the end, it became clear that there was an order not to disclose information about the current location of Palina.
We called the Mahiliou prison, we called the Homiel colony, the Rechytsa women's colony, everywhere they told us to write a written request that they would answer it. Three weeks have passed since these written requests were sent, but there is still no answer. It is clear that the Lukashenka regime is taking revenge on Palina and us, her relatives and friends, and all those who helped her and were worried about her fate.
Literally, a week ago, only one letter came from Polina, which she sent back from the Homiel colony. Palina writes that she is ready for all the upcoming ordeal. She knew they could keep her isolated for a week or even a month. But Palina is humorous about it, she says that she has gone through so much, and she is also ready to go through it and is not going to obey this system in any way or cooperate with it anyhow. She also called on all Belarusians to act along with their conscience, and not to tolerate the situation. There should be no cooperation with the criminal regime. Palina asks all Belarusians to follow this simple truth.
