Butusov: Putin Wants To Use Belarusian Army As 'Cannon Fodder'
Yury Butusov

The threat of an attack by Lukashenka's army is intensifying.

Russia is trying to draw the Belarusian army into the war against Ukraine. This will allow the Russian Federation to increase the fighting front. It will not change the balance of power in favor of Russia.

Yury Butusov, editor-in-chief of Censor.Net, stated it in a live broadcast.

"I don't think Ukraine is interested in strikes on the territory of Belarus right now. I think we should focus all our efforts on defeating the Russian rear in the occupied territories, Crimea, Donbas. Therefore, the leadership of Ukraine will not take any action to the last to strike the Belarusian land. Belarus is an ally of Russia. Belarus is helping Russia in this war. It allows beating from its territory. The threat of an offensive by the Belarusian army, no matter how weak it may look, is real. Belarus may be such a source of replenishment of the Russian army," he said.

According to Butusov, the intervention of the Belarusian army will not change the balance of power in favor of Russia.

"I think everything will end up in very big losses for Belarus. Lukashenka understands that too. Nothing will happen to Belarus now. With all its might, Russia is trying to draw the Belarusian army into the war to increase the fighting front and to throw in additional ground forces, since the Russian Federation does not have enough infantry. They need fresh cannon fodder. They want it to be Belarusian cannon fodder, so the threat in the direction of Belarus, unfortunately, is only increasing," the journalist concluded.
