Some military sympathize with the volunteers who set the goal to liberate Belarus.

The Belarusian Kastus Kalinouski regiment was formed in March 2022 to defend Ukraine from the full-scale Russian invasion. His unspoken credo, as the commander says, is to liberate Belarus.

Katsiaryna Shmatsina, an analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies BISS, says that the dictator Alexander Lukashenko is afraid of it because, according to her, the Belarusian army sympathizes with the fighters who are now bravely defending Ukrainians. She talked about actual sentiments in Belarus during an interview with Radio NV.
