Lukashenka Scared Of IEs Protests

Last October, Belarusian entrepreneurs went on strike.

Lukashenka is afraid of protests by individual entrepreneurs caused by the changes in tax legislation that came into force early this year.

Individual entrepreneurs lost the opportunity to apply the simplified taxation system. The single tax rates were raised.

"We have to talk to them. We can't... after a while, they will go crazy and we'll have to fight with them when they go on strike," Lukashenka said.

As Charter97.org wrote, last October, individual entrepreneurs went on strike. Then the Belarusian businessmen protested against the new pricing scheme.
