‘I Was Kidnapped On Motorbike And Driven Towards Gaza, Being Hit With Stick On The Way’

An 85-year-old Israeli woman spoke about her experiences in captivity by Hamas.

Yocheved Lifshitz, who was released by Hamas on Monday, told reporters that she “went through hell” in Gaza.

Lifschitz, an 85-year-old grandmother, was held captive in Gaza for more than two weeks before being released and returned to Israel late Monday evening, writes CNN.

“I went through hell that I didn’t expect to survive. I didn’t think we would get to this situation,” said the woman, who is currently hospitalized at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

She continued: “They committed outrages on our kibbutz. No exceptions were made for children or the elderly. They put me on a motorcycle and drove me, along the way they hit me with sticks, it was very difficult for me to breathe.”

According to the woman, the hostages walked for a few kilometers along the tunnels underground. “As we got there, the people told us that they are people who believe in the Quran and they will not harm us, and we will get the same conditions they get in the tunnels,” Lifschitz said.

About staying in captivity, the woman said: “We slept on mattresses. There were guards and a paramedic and a doctor who took care of the fact that we’ll have the same medicine that we need. They took care of the sanitary side of things so that we didn't get sick. We ate the same food as them — cream cheese spread.”
