Israel Announces Battles With Hamas In Underground Tunnels Near Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces are destroying terrorists' military equipment.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are conducting a ground operation in the Gaza Strip and have engaged Hamas militants in underground tunnels where enemy military equipment has been destroyed. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the IDF press service.

According to the commander of the Southern Group of Israeli forces, Yaron Finkelman, whose soldiers are conducting ground operations in the Gaza Strip, the army is “striking against Hamas and terrorist organizations” in the enclave.

“At this time, our soldiers are fighting courageously and bravely on the battlefield. There are also fierce battles in which terrorists are killed, face-to-face fighting and contact attempts are made,” he said.

The IDF spokesman noted that soldiers will fight in alleys, in tunnels— “wherever necessary.”

The Israeli Defense Forces said that the militants' military equipment was destroyed in these tunnels.

The IDF also reported the defeat of 300 Hamas targets over the past 24 hours.

Earlier, on October 7, Hamas militants staged a large-scale invasion of Israel. After this, Tel Aviv announced the start of the Iron Swords Operation, and began regularly shelling targets in the Gaza Strip.
