The Ukrainian army has launched a serious assault.

The fact that more than 10 different brigades are now engaged in the area of Novoprokopivka testifies to the seriousness of the AFU to break through the front. They include artillery brigades, airborne, mechanised and infantry brigades.

This was stated by military expert Sergei Zgurets on espreso.tv.

Now the main attention is focused on the Southern Front, where the Ukrainian counter-offensive has been going on since June 4.

For 4 months already, newly formed brigades and brigades with experience continue to break through the Russian defence, including in the Tokmak direction.

And right now the most important tactical fighting is taking place around Novoprokopivka and Verbove.

A fairly significant grouping is deployed on the enemy's side.

If we take the distance from Kopanivka to Novoprokopivka, it is about 20 enemy units of "brigade" or "regiment" level.

The Ukrainian advance is taking place in extremely difficult conditions, with overcoming minefields and destroying enemy manpower and hardware in these conditions.

Since RF losses are very high, they are looking for new resources to redeploy to this particular section of the front.

Novoprokopivka and Verbove

The military officer of the territorial defence, aerial reconnaissance pilot Oleksandr Solonkov said that every day the relevant work continues in this direction for quite a long time.

"The Russians have realised that this is the main bridgehead. This is the direction on which they have to throw a lot of additional forces. The occupiers are trying not to allow further advancement of the AFU, they are trying to recapture lost positions. Now the grinding down of the Russian Federation's reserves is underway," Solonkov noted.

He provided a detailed description of one of the fortifications between Novopropkopivka and Robotyne and described how the defence lines were built.

"It is very difficult to defend when everything is so well seen, so overlaps are built that help to hide the number of personnel, partially hide the advancing. There are photos of fortifications that are further in depth, in which it is possible to conduct a circular defence. The further the advance goes, the more chances there are to find some more thoroughly built and fortified strongholds. This is quite typical, there are enough such fortified positions," the Ukrainian military officer said.
