The Russians were driven out of positions near Shumy and Yuzhne.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces began successful offensive operations in the Horlivka direction; the waste heap near Yuzhne and Shumy is under their control.
Instructor pilot, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, military expert Roman Svitan told this to Channel 24.
In recent days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces began advancing towards Horlivka near Shumy and Yuzhny.
Ukrainian fighters from this direction report that the Russians have already been knocked out of the waste heap, and there are 7-8 kilometers left to the city, the military expert noted.
Svitan explained that the Ukrainian army now occupies heights in the eastern direction, from which it is easier to move and attack the enemy.
“Probably, the direction we talked about is now being intensified. When it rains in the Donbas, it will be possible to drive only on paved roads. It’s optimal to do this in the Horlivka-Yenakiejve agglomeration, the second could be the Yasynuvata agglomeration,” added the instructor pilot.
