U.S. Announces Deployment Of Nuclear Submarine To Middle East

The United States sent a nuclear submarine to the Middle East following two aircraft carriers sent earlier. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that an Ohio-class submarine was entering its area of responsibility in the Middle East.

“On November 5, 2023, an Ohio-class submarine arrived in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility,” the CENTCOM said in a message on X.

As CNN notes, the US has not provided any other details, although it did release an image that appears to show a submarine in Egypt's Suez Canal near the Suez Canal Bridge.

"The military rarely announces the movements or operations of its fleet of ballistic and guided missile subs.
