Law-Enforcers Detain BSU Associate Professor In Minsk

In 2020, he took part in protests.

In Minsk, the law-enforcers detained Aliaksei Semiantsou, associate professor of the Department of Communication Design of BSU. This was reported by a Telegram channel close to GUBOPiK.

“In 2020, I took part in rallies 3-4 times, was subscribed to an extremist channel and wrote to friends who live in Russia about the events in Minsk,” the man was forced to say in the “repentant” video.

“It is important to note that information about the violator was provided by responsible persons from BSU due to the violator’s systematic propaganda of extremism and homosexuality among students,” the Telegram channel said.

Aliaksei Semiantsou is a member of the International Public Association “Union of Designers”, a laureate of international and republican competitions.

In 2009, he was awarded a diploma from the BSU “For many years of fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity in training highly qualified specialists.”

In 2011 he was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Ministry of Culture, and in 2012 — a certificate of honor from the rector of BSU.
