Russian Singer Chicherina To Stand Trial

A life sentence is possible.

The indictment against the Russian singer and propagandist Yulia Chicherina was sent to court.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Chicherina was charged with encroachments on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. Illegal crossing of the state border and public desecration of the state flag of Ukraine. Propaganda and justification of war. Support for the armed anger of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Under these articles, Chicherina faces life imprisonment.

According to investigators, the Russian rock singer has used her popularity to justify Russian aggression against Ukraine since 2014. She publicly called for an aggressive war and the commission of deliberate actions with the aim of changing the boundaries of the territory and state border of Ukraine in violation of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine.

The case against Chicherina

In March 2022, Checherina illegally arrived in the temporarily occupied Enerhodar and removed the flag from the local city hall building.

Then, based on this and other facts, law enforcement officers qualified her criminal actions under two articles of the Criminal Code:

Part 3 Article 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine);

Part 1 Article 338 (desecration of state symbols).

The malefactor faces life imprisonment.

It also became known that the US promised a reward of 50 thousand dollars for the head of Chicherina, who has been on the side of the militants for years, after the incident with the flag.
