‘Unmade Movie Show’ Attendees Detained In Minsk

The director of the film festival may be among those arrested.

This week in Minsk, visitors to an event called “Show of an Unmade Movie” were detained, reports the Telegram channel “Sacred Belawood”.

It was held by the organizers of the Unfiltered Cinema festival on December 21 in the Minsk tea studio on Gikala Street, 7a-7.

According to the resource, several people were detained, both ordinary visitors and organizers and members of the kinaklub.org community (organizers of the closed festival Cinema Perpetuum Mobile, the Kinobalagan project, Unfiltered Cinema, etc.).

The detainees have been sentenced to administrative detention, and are now in the Akrestsin Street detention center.

The reason for the arrest and the security forces from which unit carried out the arrests are still unknown.

The author suggests that among those arrested may be director of the Unfiltered Cinema festival Aliaksandr Martynyuk (Alex Mart).

This year, the Ministry of Culture completely canceled the Unfiltered Cinema festival in Belarus, as well as a number of screenings in other cities of Belarus. At the same time, the festival held screenings in Vilnius and Georgia.
