What are their peculiarities?

The UK has supplied Ukraine with the latest Martlet multi-purpose guided missiles, which are designed to destroy drones. This was reported by the British newspaper The Times. There is no official confirmation of the transfer of Martlet missiles to Ukraine yet.

The newspaper notes that Martlet missiles are effective in combating entire groups of attack drones, including Iranian Shahed drones, which the aggressor country Russia is using in its war against Ukraine.

Martlet is a lightweight multi-role guided missile developed by Thales Air Defence. It has been in service in the UK since 2021. Its range is up to 8 kilometres.

A special feature of the LMM Martlet is the use of a dual-channel guidance system - laser beam and infrared at the final guidance site. The shaped-charge warhead has a mass of 3 kg and is detonated by a non-contact laser fuse when fired at an aerial target.
