Ukrainian actor Sergiy Kustov died at the age of 78.

Ukrainian actor Sergiy Kustov died at the age of 78. This was reported on the Facebook page of Lviv First Theatre for Children and Youth on December 2.

"Our People's Artist of Ukraine Sergiy Kustov - an era in the history of theatre Lviv and the whole country, our senior colleague, friend and mentor, passed into eternity," the obituary said.

Kustov devoted 55 years of his life to the First Theatre, performing more than 100 roles. Among them - Hamlet, Golokhvastov in the play "Behind Two Hares", Robin Hood and Lukash in "Forest Song".

"Worked with such outstanding directors as Sergiy Danchenko, Ada Kunitsa, Volodymyr Opanasenko, Volodymyr Sklyarenko, Myron Lukavetsky, Sergiy Proskurnya, Alla Babenko, Oleksiy Kravchuk and others. Our sincere condolences to Sergiy's family, friends and loved ones. Eternal memory," they wrote in the post.

On December 5, it was reported that the actor will be buried in Nikopil, Dnepropetrovsk region, where the actor died. There he lived in recent years.

Also the post revealed that Kustov had a dream left unfulfilled - the role of the Old Man from "The Old Man and the Sea" by American writer Ernest Hemingway.

"Here he sailed in his boat far beyond the horizon ... Farewell, Sergiy, a great actor!" the obituary said.
