Mateusz Morawiecki said that the Kremlin uses the Belarusian regime for its own purposes.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki did not rule out the closure of other border-crossing points on the border with Belarus.
The reason for the closure of the border crossing point in Bobrowniki, as the head of the Polish government noted at a conference in Brussels, is the growing tension in relations with Belarus.
“The reason for the closure of the border crossing point in Bobrowniki is the growing tension in relations with Belarus. The Russians and the Kremlin treat Belarus as a tool. For us and for Ukraine and Europe, this is an increasingly dangerous phenomenon,” the Prime Minister of Poland said.
Morawiecki did not rule out the closure of other checkpoints on the border with Belarus.
As the Charter97.org website reported earlier, the Polish checkpoint “Bobrowniki” has suspended its work from today.
This was announced by the Minister of the Interior and Administration of Poland Mariusz Kamiński.
“Due to important national security interests, we have decided to suspend traffic at the Polish-Belarusian border crossing point in Bobrowniki from 12.00 of February 10 this year until further notice,” he said.
This is how Poland reacted to the verdict against Andrzej Poczobut, a journalist and one of the leaders of the Union of Poles in Belarus. The Lukashists sentenced the man to eight years in prison.
There are now no more border crossings with Poland in the Hrodna region. The Bruzgi-Kuznica checkpoint was closed during the 2021 illegal migrant crisis.
Now residents of the Hrodna region, due to the policy of the Lukashenka regime, must travel to Poland either through the Brest region, or through the border crossing points in Lithuania (“Benyakoni”, “Privalka”).
