Mazyr Oil Refinery Administration Seems Nervous After Attack On Plane In Machulishchy

The plant is purchasing a drone surveillance system worth $600,000.

Mazyr Oil Refinery decided to purchase a surveillance system for drones. The tender attracted the attention of the local Flagstaff publication.

Under the terms of the state procurement, the Mazyr Oil Refinery is ready to pay 1,700,000 rubles (about $600,000) for a system that can find drones using optical, laser, and radar technologies. The system must also be able to find the location of the UAV remote control.

The procurement ad does not explain what is planned to be done with the detected UAVs.

In the morning of February 26, in the vicinity of the military airfield of the 50th mixed base of the Belarusian Air Force in Machulishchy (Minsk region), local residents heard several explosions. Later it became known about a drone attack on a Russian military aircraft for early warning and control (AWACS) A-50.

On March 2, the plane left Belarus and is now being repaired at the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after G. M. Beriev.
