What territories will the ‘goodwill gesture’ include?
During the upcoming counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army, the same tactics can be used as during the liberation of the right bank part of the Kherson region. The enemy can be forced to leave part of the occupied territories, to make another so-called ‘goodwill gesture’.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can use the leaked information of the United States to confuse the enemy. Lieutenant General Ihor Romanenko, the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expressed this opinion in an exclusive interview with obozrevatel.com.
“I do not rule out that the General Staff will pretend that they continue to follow the publicly announced plan, but in fact implement a different plan,” he said.
According to the general, after a large-scale leak of some classified military data, Russian intelligence will probably double-check everything, trying to understand where the real plan of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is, and where is a ‘legend’, a false lead.
In this context, General Romanenko drew attention to the fact that a certain amount of time has already passed since the leak of the information, while another month may pass before the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “A lot can change, so if you act skillfully, you can use the situation,” he said.
At the same time, the general emphasized that no matter which direction is chosen for the main attack, "it is necessary to attack the enemy's logistics" - to destroy munition depots and supply routes.
“This is about the same as we acted in the Kherson direction in relation to the enemy group of troops on the right bank of the Dnipro. Then we advanced, took the first line and met very serious resistance from the enemy. There we stopped, settled down and began to intensively process them. And they achieved the result - they were forced to leave, ”Romanenko recalled.
According to him, in order to repeat the same scenario, “a large amount of ammunition and, in general, weapons are needed, including aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, sabotage groups and so on.”
As Charter97.org reported, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Roman Svitan said that the first phase of the Ukrainian counteroffensive had actually begun.
