Statkevich's Wife: No Letters From Mikalai For Almost Two Months

The administration of the colony does not respond to official requests.

The wife of one of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition Mikalai Statkevich, Maryna Adamovich, said that she had not received letters from her husband for almost two months.

“For 56 days I haven’t heard anything from Mikalai Statkevich. Nothing at all.

Everything that is written just falls into a dark, suffocating abyss. No sound, no air movement.

There is no response to my official appeals either,” the political prisoner’s wife wrote on Facebook.

Mikalai Statkevich was sentenced to 14 years in prison, he was accused of organizing mass riots (Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).

Since the beginning of July 2022, when Mikalai Statkevich began serving his sentence in the Hlybokaye colony, he has had 23 penalties. At least 9 times he ended up in a punishment cell for periods of 7 to 10 days. The political prisoner celebrated the New Year in the punishment cell.
