A group of illegal immigrants on the border of Belarus and Poland spoke about the threats from the Lukashists.

A group of illegal migrants - 30 people, including children, has spent several days in the border strip between Belarus and Poland. Poland does not let them in, and the Belarusian special services threaten to kill them if they return to Belarus. The Associated Press, citing Polish human rights activists and officials, reported on May 28.

Although, according to activists of the human rights organization Grupa Granica (Berder Group), a group of migrants were outside Poland’s border wall, they were on Polish territory, therefore they could apply for international protection and have the right to enter the country.

But this requires the consent of the Polish Border Service, which, in case of refusal, will be forced to drive people to Belarusian territory, where, according to the migrants, they will face reprisals.

“In Belarus, they are not safe. There are sick children in their group. The Belarusian special services, as this group has told us, threaten them that if they return, they will be beaten, or that they will kill them. Therefore, people need to be let in urgently, as they are on Polish territory and agree to apply for international protection,” the Grupa Granica activists told the Associated Press.

At the moment, a group of migrants are still in the border area and is waiting for the decision of Poland.

Recall that the migration crisis on the borders of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania arose in the second half of 2021. Migrants from the countries of the Middle East and Africa flew to Belarus to illegally enter the European Union. Polish and Lithuanian border guards have repeatedly testified that Belarusian border guards help migrants cross the border. The actions of the Belarusian authorities in the West were regarded as a form of hybrid war.

The Baltic states and Poland consider this to be Lukashenka's revenge for their tough position in relation to the repression of the Belarusian opposition and civil society.
