Belarus Changes Temporary Disability Benefit And Maternity Benefit Calculations

The conditions for calculating some benefits will seriously change.

Some benefits will be calculated in a new way in Belarus from January 1, 2024, according to Minsk-Novosti.

We are talking about a new calculation of benefits for temporary disability, as well as for maternity benefits. So, from January 1, 2024, the payments of these benefits will be based on the calculation of personalized accounting data.

“The average daily earnings will be centrally calculated for the appropriation of benefits for temporary disability and maternity, as well as the duration of the payment of mandatory insurance or social insurance to determine the amount of benefits for illness or injury at home,” explained Uladzimir Zhemchuzhnikau, the head of the Minsk City Department of the Social Security Fund.

At the same time, from January 1, 2024, the average daily earnings will be determined based on the amounts of payments at all places of work for the billing period. Also, in the billing period data will be included for 18 months before the quarter of illness (pregnancy, childbirth). The data will also include mandatory insurance payments and social insurance payments from former jobs.
