The commanders left them up to their necks in water after the dam was blown up.
Fighters of the Special Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region have rescued from the water the occupants who were drowning as a result of the blowing up of the hydroelectric power plant. They have replenished the exchange fund of Ukraine.
This is reported by the press service of the Special Forces of Ukraine.
Yes, after the HPP was blown up, the positions of the Russians were flooded, and their command did nothing to evacuate them. Then the SOF fighters saw five occupants who were up to their necks in water.
"After receiving information about the possibility of taking the enemy prisoner, the SOF soldiers went after them," the report said.
When the prisoners were loaded onto boats, the Russians opened fire on them from other positions, despite the fact that their comrades were there. Nevertheless, all the captives were brought alive to the coast. Ukrainian SOF soldiers were not injured during the mission.
Impact of the Blowing Up of the Kakhovka HPP on the Front Line
After the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydropower plant on June 6, the territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions were flooded - dozens of settlements found themselves under water.
In addition, the occupiers apparently miscalculated and washed away their own line of defence. According to Natalya Humenyuk, head of the united press centre of the southern defence forces, in some areas they had to move back 5-15 kilometres.
