Vadzim Prakopyeu Sentenced To 25 Years In Penal Colony

In Minsk, sentences were announced to 18 defendants in the “case” of the ex-restaurateur.

In Minsk, on June 21, sentences were announced to defendants in the criminal case of ex-restaurateur Vadzim Prakopyeu, zerkalo.io reports.

The accused were 18 people. Three of them were tried in absentia, as they are abroad. These are: Vadzim Prakopyeu, Ihar Chamyakin and Dzianis Khamitsevich.

Vadzim Prakopyeu was sentenced to 25 years in prison with a fine of 1,000 base fees (37,000 rubles). Uladzislau and Vital Vaitsekhovich, Pavel Chamyakin, Siarhei Lisouski, Pyotr Yurkevich and Dzianis Khamichevich, whom the state prosecutor called “the most active and dangerous members of the criminal community”, were given terms ranging from 16 to 21 years. They will serve the first five years of their sentence in prison.

Other defendants were sentenced to between two and 14 years in prison.
