Russians Suffer Serious Losses Due To Blowing Up Kakhovka Hydropower Plant

The Ukrainian General Staff has described the situation in the Russian 7th Airborne Assault Division and the 22nd Army Corps.

The Russians have suffered losses in personnel and hardware due to the consequences of blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thus, there are injured, killed and missing in the units of the 7th Airborne Assault Division and the 22nd Army Corps of the Russian Federation.

"Also, several field depots with ammunition and provisions, motor and armoured vehicles, and other military hardware were lost in the said units," the General Staff noted.

At the same time, during the evacuation of the population from Kakhovka, the Russian military used evacuation routes for civilians to flee the town.

"During such relocation, the invaders used local residents as human shields," the General Staff stressed.

Blowing Up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant

During the night of June 6, the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, which led to the flooding of several settlements in Kherson Oblast. More than 1,800 flooded houses are known in Korabelnyi district of Kherson.

So far, the first victims of the catastrophe are known. Thus, three people died in Oleshki, Kherson region.
