Drivers At Benyakoni Checkpoint May Face 10 Base Fees Fine, Or Blocked Wheels

Belarusians should be careful on the border with Lithuania.

The Lida border detachment reported that cases of violations by drivers of the rules for stopping and parking vehicles near the Benyakoni road checkpoint, located on the border with Lithuania, have become more frequent.

As a result, obstacles for traffic are created, and “there is a threat to the safety of citizens crossing the state border”.

The border guard noted that drivers who ignore paragraphs 143 and 145 of the Rules of the Road are subject to administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to ten base fees.

In exceptional cases, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate carry out blocking the wheels, as well as forced towing (evacuation) of vehicles.
