Russia Hits Residential Neighbourhoods Of Lviv With Missiles

A multi-storey building was hit, four people were killed and eight wounded.

During the night of July 6, the Russian occupiers carried out the largest rocket attack on civilian areas in Lviv since the start of the full-scale invasion: hitting critical infrastructure and a residential building. As a result of the terrorist actions of the aggressor country, four people were killed and at least eight were injured, Ukrainian media reported.

Emergency services worked at the sites of the strikes to remove the rubble and help people. The head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maksym Kozitsky, said so on his Telegram channel.

"A critical infrastructure facility in Lviv has been damaged, preliminarily people injured," the official wrote.

He later added that a Russian missile hit an apartment building - there was a fire, which was promptly extinguished.

"There are casualties. Firefighters, medics and specialists of the State Emergency Service are working at the site. People are being provided with all necessary assistance. Rescuers are removing the rubble," the RMA head said.

He and the Mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy have published a video message from the scene of the tragedy. The mayor pointed out that as of 05:20, eight wounded were known, one person was in serious condition.

According to him, as a result of the Russian missile attack about 60 flats of the said multi-storey building and a number of other houses around it were damaged.

Windows have been destroyed there, and there is severe damage. Up to fifty cars have also been damaged by construction debris.

Rescuers were pulling people out from under the rubble. Other services were also working at the scene of the strike.

As of 05:50, Sadovy said that rescuers had pulled out the bodies of three victims of the Russian terrorist attack from under the rubble of the high-rise. And closer to 07:20, the Interior Ministry reported four dead and nine wounded in Lviv.

The shelling destroyed the third and fourth floors in two entrances to a multi-storey building.

According to the mayor, Stryiyska Street in Lviv has been blocked off until rescuers can clear the rubble and get all the people out.

"This is the biggest attack on Lviv's civilian infrastructure since the start of the full-scale invasion. There are dead and wounded. More than 50 dwellings have been destroyed. Residential buildings have had their roofs blown off, offices, a schools and a hostel have been destroyed. Hundreds of dwellings will need rebuilding. But we will do it all. The main thing is that, unfortunately, people have died," Sadovy commented.

He thanked the rescuers, law enforcers, utility workers and medics, who continued to remove the rubble and help the victims.

We would like to point out that the AFU air force said that the Russian army attacked Ukraine with Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea.
