The balance of power is shifting.
New data on military aid to Ukraine shows a significant shift in the balance of heavy weapons on the country's battlefields after more than 16 months of war.
This has been reported by Bloomberg.
It notes that the updated Ukraine Support Tracker database maintained by Germany's Kiel Institute for World Economics reports that those helping Kyiv have supplied 471 new tanks since the start of the war, while 286 have yet to arrive.
Considering the lost or captured equipment estimates, which the Oryx intelligence group compiled from open sources, the figures show an increase in the Ukrainian tank fleet since the start of the invasion, while the Russian one has been halved.
The gap has also reduced in artillery and multiple rocket launchers, albeit significantly less.
The figures for tanks are in line with those provided by Britain's chief of defence staff, Tony Radakin.
"Russia has lost almost half the combat capability of its army. Last year it produced 10 million artillery shells, despite being able, at best, to produce 1 million shells a year. It lost 2,500 tanks, but in the best case it can produce 200 tanks a year," Radakin told the parliamentary defence committee.
