Polish border guards detained the illegals.
On Thursday, August 10, Polish border guards confronted 105 migrants attempting to violate the border. Citizens of Sri Lanka, Sudan, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia were among them.
A summary from the Polish Border Guard noted that the detained foreigners had fresh Russian tourist and work visas. They testified that they came from Moscow to Belarus by organised transport.
The Lithuanian Border Guard reported about 9 attempts to violate the border during August 10. Latvian border guards confronted 49 migrants crossing the border.
We remind, the migration crisis on the borders of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania emerged in the second half of 2021. Migrants from the Middle East and Africa flew to Belarus to illegally cross into the European Union. Polish and Lithuanian border guards repeatedly testified that Belarusian border guards helped migrants to cross the border. The actions of the Belarusian authorities in the West were regarded as a form of hybrid warfare.
The Baltic States and Poland consider it as revenge for the tough stance against the repression of the Belarusian opposition and civil society by Lukashenka.
