Zelensky Announces Dismissal Of All Regional Military Commissars

They will be replaced by the military men, who passed through the front.

All regional military commissars will be dismissed in Ukraine. Military personnel who passed through the front, or can no longer fight in trenches, will replace them.

According to RBC-Ukraine, this was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The President held a special meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, where he heard the reports of the SBI, SSU, MIA, Prosecutor General, NACP, and NABU.

“In total, there are already 112 criminal proceedings against officials of the “military registration and enlistment offices”. 33 suspicions. Regional, city, district “military commissars”. Workers of Military-Medical Commissions. Other officials. Abuses in different regions: Donetsk, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Kyiv, Lviv. Someone took bribes in cash, someone in cryptocurrency — this is probably the only difference. Cynicism is the same everywhere,” Zelensky said.

He said the decision to dismiss all military commissars was taken following the meeting.According to the President, this system should be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and bribery during war is high treason.

“They can be entrusted with overseeing the system. The decision will be implemented by commander-in-chief General Valery Zaluzhnyi. Before new heads of the regional recruitment centers are appointed, there will be inspections by the Security Service of Ukraine. Each “military commissar” who is under criminal proceedings will bear responsibility. Fair and full,” the President of Ukraine said.

Zelensky said that those military commissariats that were not involved in corruption and intend to keep their shoulder straps will go to the front line.

“I emphasize: the army is not and will never be a substitute for criminal punishment. Officials who confused shoulder straps and benefits will surely go under trial,” he concluded.

Scandals with military commissars

In the last month there have been resonant scandals with the heads of the Territorial recruitment and social support centers in Ukraine.

In particular, journalists found expensive real estate in Spain and luxury cars belonging to the military commissar of the Odesa region Yevhen Borysov. The law-enforcers suspect him of selling “white tickets”. Borysov has already been fired and placed in a pre-trial detention center.

Law enforcement officers also found out that the military commissar of the Dnipropetrovsk region during the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine registered several cars and two apartments in Dnipro in the name of his father.
