British Defence Intelligence: Drone Strikes On Russia Make Putin Nervous

In recent months, the range of threats penetrating well inside Russia has increased. The British Defence Intelligence believes that Putin puts a lot of pressure on the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) and the Air Defence Forces.

The British Ministry of Defence reported that the leadership of the Russian Aerospace Forces is allegedly under strong pressure to improve air defence over western Russia.

British Defence Intelligence noted that strikes deep inside Russia are strategically important because President Putin almost certainly invaded Ukraine on the assumption that it would have little direct effect on Russians.

“The pressure is likely to be particularly on the Chief of Staff of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Colonel General Viktor Afzalov,” the British agency added.

The British MoD also noted that the VKS Commander-in-Chief General Sergei Surovikin continues to be absent from the workplace - the Kremlin suspects him of colllobarating with Prigozhin during the June 2023 mutiny.

Meanwhile, unmanned aerial vehicles regularly raid Moscow. Also, the British Ministry of Defence suggested that recently Soviet S-200 missiles allegedly strike Russia. However, Ukraine did not report the use of these missiles against Russia, according availiable informtion.
