Ukrainian Armed Forces Hit Russia’s Sergei Kotov Ship: Budanov’s Office Reveals Details

On the night of September 14, in the Black Sea, the Defense Forces damaged the Russian patrol ship Sergei Kotov, which is confirmed by the Russian occupiers themselves. This was reported by the representative of the Ukrainian military intelligence Andriy Yusov in a commentary to LIGA.net.

In an information report on the situation for September 13-14, the head of the intelligence department of the district headquarters, Colonel Filatov, announced the defeat of two ships. He reported that on September 14 at 04.40 am the patrol ships Vasily Bykov and Sergey Kotov were attacked. The propeller of the latter is damaged and there is a hole in the left side 50 by 100 cm above the waterline.

“The consequences of both of these hits are quite serious. This means that for a long period the Sergey Kotov ship will be under repair and will not participate in the aggressive actions of the aggressor state against Ukraine,” Yusov noted.

Attack on Russian ships in Sevastopol

On September 13, powerful explosions occurred at the plant in Sevastopol and a fire broke out at the Sevastopol Marine Plant named after Ordzhonikidze in the ship bay. The occupiers announced a missile attack.

Later it became known that the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit a Russian submarine for the first time. Sky News reported that the Ukrainian military successfully attacked a Russian submarine and a large landing ship for the first time. The Ukrainian Armed Forces could use British Storm Shadow missiles to attack Sevastopol.

The Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) later reported that the Rostov-na-Donu submarine, which was hit during the attack on the Sevastopol Marine Plant, was hit twice. One blow came from above the bow of the submarine. The second hit was on the right side of the submarine in the area behind the wheelhouse.
