Moscow has become too weak and is abandoning all its “partners.”
Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov commented on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. He stated that Russia is too weak to support Armenia in hostilities.
Danilov stated this on УП.Live. The aggressor country cannot resist since it spent all its resources in the war in Ukraine.
“Russia surrenders Armenia, it will not join the fight, it is not a partner for any country. All the obligations that Russia took on with regard to Armenia are nullified and it leaves it alone with this problem. All Central Asian countries in relations with Russia are to understand that. Russia simply abandons its partners and does not fulfil its obligations,” Mr Danilov said.
He emphasized that Russia promised to help the Armenians. However, Azerbaijan, like the whole world, understands that Russia is now focused on the war in Ukraine.
In August, Armenia appealed to the UN Security Council with a request to convene an emergency meeting due to the deteriorating situation in Karabakh. Yerevan said that Azerbaijan had blocked the Lachin corridor, causing thousands of civilians to be on the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe.
In May, Armenia recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, but there is no agreement yet on the status of the Lachin corridor.
