The intensity of the incidence of acute respiratory infections in Belarus is estimated as average with a tendency to increase, reported the Ministry of Health on January 18.

Currently, the country is experiencing a joint circulation of seasonal influenza viruses, coronavirus and other respiratory viruses. More than half of those who have fallen ill are minors.

The "Pirola" variant of the coronavirus has not been widely spread in Belarus, the predominant circulation of two other forms of the virus: "Arcturus" and "Eris" continues.

"According to experts, the epidemic rise in the incidence of ARI, caused by the spread of influenza viruses in the season of 2023-2024 can be expected in the coming weeks," reported the Health Ministry.
