Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk’s Husband Appeals To Her ‘Godmother’ Roberta Metsola

The activist of the European Belarus was again subjected to tremendous pressure.

A lawyer was supposed to get to the political prisoner and activist of the European Belarus Civil Campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk today, who is in Zarechcha prison #24 in Belarus. However, as her husband Andrei Sharenda told Charter97.org, the lawyer was not allowed to visit her:

“This was explained by the fact that Palina allegedly did not write an application for a meeting with a lawyer. It is worth saying that Palina was transferred to the prison #24 on December 22. In almost 1.5 months, only one short letter came from my wife. She said that on January 8 she had written an application for a meeting with her lawyer and was waiting for him at her place.

She also wrote that she was freezing and asked to send her warm clothes: a hat, a scarf and thermal underwear. We sent the parcel, and today a lawyer came to her, who, I repeat, was not allowed. They are lying that Palina did not write an application for that!

I regard this as another attempt to put pressure on Palina and her relatives.

A few weeks ago, Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, became her symbolic godmother. I urge her to follow the fate of Palina and react to what is happening. After all, they resumed colossal pressure on my wife.”
