A fire broke out at a substation in Moscow. Three districts of the Russian capital were left without light and heating.

This is reported by Telegram channels of Baza and Mash.

A substation caught fire on Vysokovoltniy proezd in Moscow. Residents of more than 20 multi-storey buildings were left without heat and light.

"Several crews of firefighters are working at the site. It is not yet known what caused the fire," the channel's administrators reported.

"At about 6am, the transformer substation in Vysokovoltniy proezd caught fire. It supplies power to houses in Bibirevo, Otradnoe and Medvedkovo, among others. It is not known how long they will stay without light and part of the heating, the utility workers are trying to eliminate the accident as soon as possible," reported the Mash channel.

Also according to the administrators of the channel Mash, the temperature inside the flats dropped to 10-15 degrees Celsius of heat in frosts historical for the capital city.

Now it's 25 degrees of frost in Moscow.
