The man was tried under articles on incitement of hostility (Article 130 of the Criminal Code), insulting Lukashenka (Article 368 of the Criminal Code) and gross violation of order (Article 342 of the Criminal Code).
It follows from the court schedule that the convicted is Dzmitry Holub, writes Mediazona. The law enforcers reported on his detention in March.
Dzmitry is a foreman of the Hrodnazhylstroi construction organisation. According to the prosecution version, from 2019 to 2024, he was writing comments on social networks ‘aimed at inciting discord, containing public insults of internal affairs officers, journalists, representatives of the authorities’.
He also took part in protests in 2020, BelTA writes.
Students of Yanka Kupala State University were brought to the courtroom to hear the verdict. Before and after the verdict, they were given a lecture ‘on extremism’.
